Femi Fani-Kayode, former Minister of Aviation has criticized the former governor of Lagos State and the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for sitting to greet the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
The controversial politician was reacting to a viral picture showing Tinubu sitting down to greet the monarch while the Ooni stands to greet him at the coronation of the Oniru of Iruland, Oba Omogbolahan Lawal.
Reacting in a post on his Twitter account on Thursday, Fani-Kayode wondered why Tinubu would refuse to stand up to greet the traditional ruler and not prostrate. According to the former minister, Tinubu’s behaviour was deeply insulting to every Ife son and daughter.
He wrote: “That the Asiwaju of Bourdillon refused to stand up to greet the Ooni of Ife speaks volumes.
“This was not only deeply insulting to every Ife & indeed son & daughter of Odua but it is also a crying shame.
“Would a northern political leader refuse to stand up for his traditional ruler?”
