“Successful Candidates For 774,000 FG Jobs Will Resume Duties In October”- Keyamo

The Minister of State, Labour And Employment, Festus Keyamo SAN has disclosed that 774,000 successful candidates for the Federal Government’s Special Public Works Programme will resume their duties in October 2020 in order to fast track the whole process.

1000 persons will be employed from each local government area in Nigeria which constitutes 774 local councils. They will be engaged for a period of 90 days.

For a prompt implementation of the empowerment programme, Festus Keyamo on Wednesday has set up an inter-ministerial committee with Dr. Nasiru Ladan, the Director-General of the National Directorate of Employment, NDE as the Committee Chairman.

The Minister of State, Labour And Employment, Festus Keyamo is the supervising minister of the NDE.

Asking Festus Keyamo about when the 774,000 persons would be recruited, he said: “Successful candidates will be engaged between October and December.”

It should be recalled that on April 6, 2020, the Federal Government made known to the public that 1,000 persons would be recruited from each of the 774 local government councils in the country for an empowerment initiative tagged Federal Government’s Special Public Works Programme.

This was revealed by the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed during a briefing which held in Abuja which disclosed the fiscal measures among other interventions the government was applying to ease people’s plights during the COVID-19 pandemic affecting the Nation’s economy.

Festus Keyamo, 2 weeks ago, has made a disclaimer about a fake recruitment website going viral online as the proposed site for applications. He dissociate the Federal Government from such fraudulent site stating that the public will be informed later about the recruitment process.
