The immediate past deputy chairman, Ika South Local Government, Hon Francis Ogini, has said that he does not operate a baby factory business and that he will never in his life engage in such evil act.
Ogini who was reacting to a recent newspaper publications on his alleged involvement in baby factory business, disclosed that the operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team (IRT) invited him to their office and he honoured the invitation over his alleged involvement in operation of a baby factory in Agbor.
According to him “I was invited by the Inspector-General (IG) of Police Special Intelligence Response Team (IRT), but, that was over a month ago to respond to the allegation made by one, Pa. Samuel Adagbon, that some time ago that I directed someone to his house in Mbiri. As a law abiding citizen, I went to IG’s office in Abuja to make my response. And thereafter, I was allowed to go because I have no hand in any baby factory business as he (Adagbon) claimed. I think my invitation to the police headquarters in Abuja was in line with the Nigerian Police procedure, so it wasn’t a function of an arrest. I can also recall that during questions and answers by the Investigative Police Officer (I.P.O) in charge of the matter, photographs were taken and that was how my image appeared among the arrested suspects.”
Continuing, Ogini said, “The problem we have is the way issues are publicized; sincerely, I do not know anything called baby factory.I was not detained by the police.”
He used the opportunity to appeal to media houses to always carry out serious investigations on issues before publishing them.
