2 dead, 5 injured at Lagos-Ibadan Expressway accident


2 persons have reportedly been killed and 5 with injuries as a result of a road accident that occurred at the Mowe area, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, according to the Federal Road Safety Corps, Ogun Command on Sunday, August 11, 2019.

The accident happened around 7:26pm on Saturday said Mr. Clement Oladele, the Ogun Sector Commander of FRSC.

Mr. Oladele said the road clash was due to the high speed of the Toyota Hiace with registration number APP 721 ET on its way to Ibadan from Lagos clashing with a motorcycle coming from Olowotedo area of Mowe.

8 persons were involved in the auto clash, claiming the lives of two and the other six with severe injuries. The 2 dead bodies have been carried to the morgue of Divine Touch Hospital, Mowe and the other 6 injured have been receiving treatments at the same hospital.

Mr. Oladele therefore advised motorists to obey the road traffic rules to prevent the lost of lives and property especially during this festive period of Eid-el-Kabir.
