Gov Okowa Celebrates 60th Birthday Anniversary With Physically Challenged Deltans, Prominent Nigerians.

President of the Nigerian Senate, Dr Ahmad Lawan, has attested to the patriotic spirit and nationalistic disposition of Delta State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, and described him as a true democratic with genuine love for the unity and socioeconomic advancement of Nigeria.
Lawal, disclosed that he worked closely with Okowa at the red chambers between 2011 and 2015; adding that if all Nigerians were like the governor of Delta State, in terms of bridge building across political divide, the country would have achieved greater results in delivering dividend of democracy to the people.
He further asserted that the speed of socioeconomic transformation and infrastructure development in Delta State is awesome and worthy of emulation, and commended Okowa for his uncommon foresight and exemplary leadership qualities, translated to good governance which places Delta in the forefront of fast developing States in Nigeria.
The President of the 9th Senate, accompanied by the Chairman of Nigerian Governors Forum and Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, was at the government house Asaba, to felicitate with Okowa on the occasion of his 60th birthday anniversary celebration, where he urged the governor to continue to build enduring friendship and bridges across political divide, pointing out that the Nigeria of our dreams can only be achieved when stakeholders and political leaders work in synergy towards the attainment of national goals, interest and socioeconomic agenda.
In the same vein, Ekiti State Governor and Chairman, Nigerian Governors Forum, Dr Kayode Fayemi commended the modest achievements of governor Okowa and said Nigerians are proud of his strength of character, sincerity of purpose in handling national issues; as can be seen from his peace building efforts and contributions towards the advancement of the nation’s nascent democracy from 1999 and still counting.
In his response, governor Okowa thanked the Senate President and his entourage for finding time out of their busy schedules to honour him on the occasion of his 60th birthday anniversary celebration, adding that the synergy between SP Lawan and the Chairman of Nigerian Governor’s Forum, governor Fayemi, is a welcome development that must be sustained so as to bring about the much needed team work, without rancour and unhealthy rivalries, for national development.
Later same day, Monday July 2019, governor Okowa hosted a large number of physically challenged Nigerians and Deltans from across the three senatorial districts to a birthday gig as they wine, dinned and danced to superlative gospel music at the event centre, Asaba.
