Armed Forces Day: 244 Boko Haram detainees released in Borno

The Nigerian military, on Monday, released 244 persons suspected to be involved with  Boko Haram insurgency in Borno State.

Theatre Commander, Operation LAFIYA DOLE, Maj. Gen Rogers Nicholas made this announcement at the Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration at Maimalari Cantonment Military Cemetery, Maiduguri, in the state capital.

“After screening of the detainees, the military is glad to release them to the Borno State government,” Gen Nicholas said after handing over the detainees to the state government.

Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State, later, held talks with the suspects at the parade ground of the Cemetery where the Armed  Forces Day celebration was held.
