DELTA STATE WINS 4 GOLD AND 1 BRONZE AT NATIONAL FESTIVAL OF ARTS AND CULTURE (NAFEST).

Engr. Lawrence Ejiofor, the Honourable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Delta State has given encomium to Delta State Contingent for their victory at the just concluded National Festival of Arts and Culture (NAFEST) held in Benin-City, the Edo State Capital.

The Commissioner for Culture and Tourism stated this on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 while receiving Gongs/Trophies and Certificates won by the State in his office.

He said, “I am please with your conduct during the competition. My assurance is that next edition will be greater in terms of early preparations and logistics.”

He therefore thanked His Excellency Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for all his support.

Earlier, the Director of Delta State Council for Arts and Culture, Mr. Patrick .A. Clark reported that the State Contingent made up of one hundred and fifty five persons travelled variously from Asaba, Agbor, Ubulu-Uku, Warri, and Ekpan to Benin-City to compete and participate in various events.

According to him, “Delta clinched overall fourth (4th) position with Golden Gong in Ayo Board Game, Best Costumed State, Traditional Cuisine, and Bronze Gong in Cultural Quiz. On the basis of these victories, Delta State was awarded four golden gongs and one bronze gong. However, the fourth golden gong was awarded to all the states for participation.”
