Singer and Idols SA runner-up Thami Shobede has died at age 31, his record label Gallo Record Company confirmed.
Shobede died at Kalafong Hospital in Pretoria in the morning of Thursday, September 12, 2019
The General Manager at Gallo Records, Robert Cowling announced the death of one of their artists, Simphiwe Thamsanqa Shodebe fondly known as Thami.
Thami suffered from an illness and complications and his family has reportedly went to see him in Atteridgeville hospital before he gave up the ghost.
Thami, a singer with the velvet voice and Season 12 Idols SA runner up was only 31 years of age.
It was gathered that Shobede was admitted in hospital after collapsing when performing on stage at the weekend.
A source close to Shobede told newsmen that his organs failed and he slipped into a coma on Tuesday.
