Pathetic Story Of How 15 Years Old Boy Drowned In Osubi Flood, Delta State – Pictures Inside

The Delta Community has been thrown into mourning mood following the incident where a 15 years old boy was killed by flood. The flood occured in the Ikpirima quarters in Osubi, Okpe Local government area of Delta State. The incident happened on Tuesday, August 13, 2019.


The young boy referred to as Onoriode went fishing with three other children who are in the age bracket (13-14) in a water pool close to the Osubi Airport. The pool of water was said to have been formed due to dredging work from Agbasa area of Warri in Warri South Local government.

Speaking in anonymity, a prominent personality of the area have told newsmen that the community have made several efforts in the past to make sure that children must not play around the pool because of its depth. He said, “None of the children from this area dare goes close to it. ” And that it is only outside children from far distance that are usually seen at the pool.

According to a close relative to the family of the children, the family was not aware that the children went fishing and that the incident will shock the mother of the children who is a petty trader and the entire family.

Also, another resident of the community has said that the pool has recorded deaths in previous years as a result of flooding and thereby call on the State Government to find a lasting solution to the pool of water to prevent future disaster.
