Heartbreaking as UBA banker commits suicide

Mr. Onyechere Ibeakanma, a Human Resources Manager at the United Bank of Africa (UBA) has reportedly committed suicide on Friday, August 9, 2019.

The 46 year old Abia State born banker gulped down a bottle of sniper which eventually lead to his sudden death. The reason for taking his life is still unknown to his family members.

Mr. Onyechere, a committed and trustworthy staff of UBA left a suicide note consoling his wife not to mourn over his death and move on with her, leaving a sum of 16 million naira in his bank account for the upkeep of his wife and only daughter.

Before his suicide, the banker has never showed any form of depression or mental instability. However, one of his close family member has said that the deceased has shown strange behaviours lately in relation to his facebook post dated July 24, 2019 stating “The light is gradually dinning out. “

On the day of his suicide,he has waited for his wife to go shopping before drinking the sniper.

“We never read any meaning to the text on his face book page he posted on July 24, 2019 at about 4,48pm, but today Onyechere is no more; what more can we say than to ask God to forgive his sins and grant his soul eternal passage into His bosom. “, his family member said.

Efforts to reach the Head, Brand and Communications in UBA , Mr. Rahmon Nasir about the unpleasant incident proved abortive.

His suicidal note reads thus:

“The best, that’s what I used to call you. Finally this is the end of my journey here on earth. The evil I have been battling with has succeeded in quenching the flame. You married a wrong man. You’re a good woman and you deserve the best. You need to be happy. You need to soar. Please take care of our princess Chinenyenwa. Tell her that I love her so much. Be peaceable with everyone though not gonna be easy. Tell my family not to harbour any resentment against you. You’re a blessing to us. That’s the wish of a dying man. Don’t cry for me but pray for me. I love you and chinenye so much. Good bye my beloved.”
